Udaipur: The Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Dr. Pratap Singh, reviewed the academic and research activities of the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding at Rajasthan College of Agriculture.

On this occasion, Dr. M.K. Mahla, Dean of Rajasthan College of Agriculture; Dr. Hemlata Sharma, Head of the Department; faculty members Dr. Amit Dadhich, Dr. Abhay Dashora, and Dr. P.B. Singh; along with Dr. Ravikant Sharma, Assistant Director (Research), Dr. K.K. Yadav, Dr. Subhash Chandra Meena, and students were present.

During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor interacted with the Head of the Department, faculty members, and students to gain insights into the ongoing teaching and research activities of the department.

He encouraged faculty and students to focus their research on need-based and problem-oriented approaches. Addressing the students, he shared his experiences and emphasized that in today’s highly competitive era, relying solely on conventional knowledge is not sufficient. He stated that the demand of the time is to cultivate innovation, technical proficiency, and practical understanding. He stressed that clear goal-setting, consistent hard work, strong discipline, and a positive attitude are the true keys to success.

The Vice-Chancellor also held detailed discussions with students regarding their research work and hostel-related concerns.

Dr. M.K. Mahla spoke about the facilities available for the holistic development of students and highlighted the vision to further enhance academic and research infrastructure for both students and faculty members in the future.

Dr. Hemlata Sharma, Head of the Department, expressed gratitude on behalf of the department to the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean, and all faculty members present.
