Udaipur: As part of the affiliation process for colleges seeking recognition from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, a three-member inspection committee conducted on-site evaluations of the Government Agriculture College, Kherwara (Udaipur) and the Government Agriculture College, Gogunda (Udaipur).

The inspection committee comprised Dr. L. N. Mahawar, Professor, Department of Horticulture, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur (Chairperson); Dr. Ramesh Babu, Professor and Head, Department of Entomology (Member); and Dr. G. L. Meena, Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Economics (Member).

During the visit, the committee carried out a comprehensive assessment of the colleges' physical infrastructure, academic facilities, laboratories, libraries, agricultural land, classrooms, buildings, equipment, faculty strength, and other human resources. Required records were also verified, while photographs and videography were conducted in accordance with university guidelines.

The committee observed that the building of the Government Agriculture College, Kherwara, is almost fully completed, with most of the essential infrastructure required for academic activities already in place. At the Government Agriculture College, Gogunda, construction work is still in progress, with certain structural components yet to be completed. Once finished, the college is expected to have all the necessary infrastructural facilities.

Regular teaching and examination activities were underway at both institutions during the inspection. Committee members visited classrooms and interacted with students to gain first-hand feedback. While student attendance was not at full capacity, the committee noted that female students outnumbered male students in the classrooms, reflecting the growing participation of women in higher education.

As per university regulations, the committee will prepare a detailed inspection report along with its recommendations based on the collected data, documentary evidence, photographs, and videography. The report will be submitted to the Coordinator and Director, Directorate of Residential Instruction, MPUAT, Udaipur, for further consideration.

During an interactive session with students, the committee emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Students were encouraged to promote the use of green manuring, advocate balanced and minimal application of chemical fertilizers, and increase awareness about the benefits of organic and bio-fertilizers among farming communities.

The committee highlighted that preserving soil health, maintaining ecological balance, and promoting sustainable agricultural development require greater adoption of natural and organic farming practices. Students were also urged to encourage farmers to use fertilizers based on soil testing and to adopt scientific and judicious management of agricultural resources.

The inspection was attended by Dr. Dinesh Hans (Dean), Dr. Rekha Panchal (Dean), Mr. Rajeev Sharma (Nodal Officer), Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Dr. Mahendra Gora, Dr. K. K. Chandel, Mr. Vijendra, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Chaudhary, Dr. Arjun Singh Rajput, Dr. Birendra, Dr. Suresh Kumar, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Yadav, Dr. Ashish Raja Jangid, Dr. Surendra Kumar Dhayal, Dr. Narendra Chaudhary, along with guest faculty appointed under the Vidya Sambal Yojana, non-teaching staff, and other university officials. All officials extended full cooperation by providing the required documents, information, and logistical support.

Appreciating the arrangements made by the college administrations, the committee expressed confidence that both institutions would continue to progress toward meeting the academic and infrastructural standards prescribed by the university and would play a significant role in strengthening quality agricultural education in the region.
