Udaipur,  The Central Non-Teaching Employees' Association of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, has elected its new leadership during a meeting held on July 6, 2026. By unanimous consent and voice vote, Dr. Urmila was appointed as President, while Gitesh Jain was nominated as General Secretary of the association.


Both Dr. Urmila and Gitesh Jain have been actively associated with employee welfare initiatives for several years. They played a significant role in the movement advocating the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in place of the National Pension System (NPS) and have consistently worked to safeguard employees' rights, strengthen organizational activities, and represent staff concerns effectively.

Members present at the meeting expressed confidence that under the leadership of the newly appointed President and General Secretary, the association would become stronger, more united, and increasingly effective in protecting employees' interests, addressing service-related issues, and enhancing the dignity and effectiveness of the organization.

Expressing her gratitude after assuming office, Dr. Urmila said that maintaining organizational unity, transparency, cooperation, and safeguarding employees' welfare would remain her foremost priorities.

General Secretary Gitesh Jain reaffirmed the association's commitment to resolving employees' grievances, protecting their rights, and contributing positively to the overall growth and development of the university.

The meeting was attended by office-bearers, employee representatives, and a large number of non-teaching staff members. The newly elected President and General Secretary were felicitated with traditional safas and shawls as a mark of respect and were extended best wishes for a successful, effective, and employee-centric tenure.

The gathering also resolved to expand the association's executive committee in the near future. The new executive body will ensure adequate representation from all units and employee categories, further strengthening the organization and enhancing its effectiveness in serving the interests of non-teaching employees.
