Jaisalmer, As per the directives of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, a Mock Parliament was organized at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Jaisalmer on the occasion of Constitution Day. The event was jointly conducted by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and ITI Jaisalmer, under the chairmanship of DLSA Secretary Kishor Kumar Talepa.

The programme was attended by Nyay Rakshak Madansingh Sodha, ITI Deputy Director Madan Mohan Chouhan, Director of Jagdamba ITI Rameshwar Borawat, along with all faculty members of the institute.

The event commenced with the Secretary paying floral tribute to the portrait of the Constitution’s chief architect, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Students enthusiastically participated in the Mock Parliament, taking on various roles such as Speaker, Prime Minister, Defence Minister, Home Minister, Finance Minister, and Leader of Opposition. They held detailed discussions on significant issues including children’s rights, environmental protection, right to education, gender equality, and child welfare.

During the session, Secretary Talepa introduced students to the Preamble of the Constitution, explaining that it reminds us of the core constitutional values and serves as a guiding light for the government, judiciary, and citizens alike. He elaborated on key terms mentioned in the Preamble—socialism, secularism, democracy, republic, liberty, equality, fraternity, and justice—in simple and comprehensible language.

The Mock Parliament concluded with the collective reading of the Preamble.
