UDAIPUR, Rajasthan,Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal in Udaipur celebrated Independence Day on Saturday with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm, with a flag-hoisting ceremony held at the institution’s premises.

The program began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a salute by the officers, employees and artists present. The gathering then collectively sang the national song “Vande Mataram” and the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana.”

Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal Director Dr. Laiq Hussain said the institution celebrates Independence Day every year with enthusiasm and a spirit of patriotism. He said the occasion also highlights the important role of folk art and cultural traditions in strengthening the spirit of national pride.

Artists of the institution presented patriotic songs, including “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” and “Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawanon Ka,” along with traditional Rajasthani patriotic compositions. The performances reflected a deep sense of patriotism while showcasing the richness of India’s folk culture.

Chief Executive Officer Tejendra Marwah, addressing the gathering, said preserving the country’s cultural heritage is essential for maintaining national unity and integrity.

Dr. Hussain highlighted the contribution of Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, which has worked for 75 years toward the preservation and promotion of folk art, folk culture and traditional practices. He said protecting and promoting India’s folk heritage is an important national responsibility.

The program concluded with Independence Day greetings to all those present, followed by the distribution of sweets.
