Jaipur, Rajasthan celebrated the 80th Independence Day on Saturday with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a strong spirit of national pride, as grand ceremonies were organised across the state.

The main state-level celebration was held in Bikaner, where Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma unfurled the Tricolour and addressed the gathering, highlighting Rajasthan's commitment to development and the broader national vision of a developed India. (The Hans India)

Across district headquarters, the celebrations featured flag hoisting, parade inspections, March Past, cultural programmes and the presentation of awards to achievers. The ceremonies began with the singing of Vande Mataram, while school students presented colourful cultural performances. Tableaux depicting the cultural heritage, development and achievements of various districts were among the major attractions.

Ministers, divisional commissioners and district collectors led celebrations at different district headquarters. The Governor's message was also read out, while freedom fighters, Veeranganas, government employees, students, sportspersons, social workers and other achievers were honoured for their contributions.

Tributes to Freedom Fighters

In Jodhpur, Parliamentary Affairs, Law and Justice Minister Jogaram Patel hoisted the national flag at Shri Ummed Government Stadium and took the salute of the March Past. He said Independence Day was an occasion to remember the sacrifices of countless known and unknown freedom fighters and to resolve to contribute towards building a brighter future for the nation.

In Sawai Madhopur, Agriculture, Horticulture and Rural Development Minister Dr Kirori Lal Meena led the district-level celebrations, while in Tonk, Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Minister Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary honoured Veeranganas and 88 achievers for outstanding work.

Message of Inclusive Development

In Pratapgarh, Revenue Minister Hemant Meena said the true meaning of independence would be realised only when every citizen receives dignity, rights and opportunities to progress. He called for development to reach every village and household.

In Kota, Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar paid tribute to freedom fighters and stressed the importance of preserving the country's freedom while nurturing values among the younger generation.

In Pali, Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat called upon citizens to preserve national pride and follow the ideals of those who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom.

Achievers and Veeranganas Honoured

The Independence Day celebrations also provided an opportunity to recognise outstanding achievements. In Bundi, Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar felicitated international boxer Arundhati Chaudhary, describing her achievement as a matter of pride for the district and the state.

In Alwar, 24 achievers were honoured for outstanding work, while Veeranganas were felicitated. In Didwana-Kuchaman, 57 officials, employees, social workers, philanthropists, folk artists, sportspersons and students were recognised for their contributions.

Development Takes Centre Stage

The celebrations also became an occasion to highlight Rajasthan's development journey. In Barmer, Industries and Commerce Minister K.K. Vishnoi spoke about the integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Balotra and its potential to generate employment and accelerate industrial growth.

In Hanumangarh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara highlighted major infrastructure projects, including the Amritsar-Jamnagar Green Expressway and canal strengthening works.

In Bharatpur, Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat emphasised the responsibility of the present generation to hand over a developed nation and protected natural resources to future generations.

From Jaisalmer and Banswara to Sikar, Churu, Chittorgarh, Jalore, Pali, Dungarpur and other districts, the celebrations reflected a common theme—remembering the sacrifices that secured India's freedom while renewing the commitment to development, unity and nation-building.

The 80th Independence Day thus became a statewide celebration of Rajasthan's heritage, achievements and aspirations, with a collective message to build a stronger, more prosperous and developed Rajasthan as part of a developed India.
