Udaipur: An orientation programme for the newly admitted students of the BPT and MPT programmes for the academic session 2026–27 was organized at the Department of Physiotherapy, Dabok Campus, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.

Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Bhanwarlal Gurjar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Shri Udaylal Dangi, MLA, Vallabhnagar Assembly Constituency, was the Guest of Honour. The programme was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Manju Mandot, Vice-Chancellor, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth.

Addressing the newly admitted students, Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Bhanwarlal Gurjar introduced them to the field of physiotherapy, its clinical significance, and its various dimensions. He also apprised the students of the academic departments and facilities available at the University and encouraged them to develop professional competence while actively contributing to society through socially relevant initiatives.

Shri Udaylal Dangi, MLA, Vallabhnagar, highlighted the need for physiotherapy services at the Government Sub-Health Centre in Bhinder. Considering the growing need for such services in the area, he proposed that the University explore an MoU for establishing a Physiotherapy Department at the centre, which would help extend physiotherapy services to the local community.

Presiding over the programme, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Manju Mandot blessed the newly admitted students and wished them a bright and successful future. She emphasized that physiotherapy is not merely a mode of treatment but an important service contributing to the creation of a healthy and empowered society. She urged the students to complement their academic knowledge with human sensitivity, research, innovation, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Prof. (Dr.) Shailendra Mehta, Principal and Programme Coordinator, extended his best wishes to the new students and shared his views on the importance of professional education, practical training, and competence in the field of physiotherapy.

The programme was attended by Dr. Sumita Khand Grover, Dr. Vinod Nair, Dr. Pragya Bhatt, Dr. Manaskant Chakraborty, Dr. Kartik Sukhwal, Dr. Priya Dadich, Dr. Arpita Gupta, Dr. Rohita Soni, Dr. Chirag Purviya, Dr. Vikas Sharma, and Dr. Parthkumar Devmurari, along with faculty members and staff of the department.

A total of 124 newly admitted students, comprising 100 BPT and 24 MPT students, participated in the orientation programme.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sumita Khand Grover, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and newly admitted students. Dr. Pragya Bhatt compered the programme.
