Barmer, September 12, 2026: A grand fair dedicated to revered folk deity Baba Ramdevji will be held on Sunday, September 13, at Ramderiya Kashmir in Shiv tehsil of Barmer district, regarded as his birthplace. The event is expected to draw around 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh devotees from Rajasthan and other parts of India, with devotees also expected from abroad.

The district administration and police officials inspected arrangements at the fair venue on Friday, including drinking water, food distribution and security measures.

Omprakash Chandak, joint secretary of the Baba Shri Ramdevji Avtar Dham Temple Development Committee, Ramderiya, said office-bearers of the temple trust, including president Naval Kishore Godara, secretary Kheeyaram Choudhary, treasurer Bhurchand Jain, manager Rawtaram Rao, Mukesh Soni, Motaram Sau and Kaushalram Jakhar, reviewed the arrangements with administrative and police officials.

The annual fair will be organised on Bhadva Shukla Beej, falling on September 13 this year. The programme will begin with flag hoisting at 9 a.m., followed by aarti and distribution of prasad at 10 a.m. A special devotional programme will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Several noted bhajan singers and folk artists are scheduled to perform, including Naresh Mali of Balotra, Jeetu Mali of Pokaran, Khushboo Kumbhar of Jodhpur and Kailash Panwar of Phulasar. Than Singh Sarana will anchor the programme, while dancers Sonal Raika and Hamiraram Raika of Jodhpur will also participate.

The temple committee said the venue has already been witnessing a daily influx of around 5,000 to 10,000 devotees arriving on foot and by vehicles, even ahead of the main fair.

Several prominent political leaders are also expected to attend the event. BJP national general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Satish Poonia, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, former Union minister Kailash Choudhary and Animal Husbandry Minister Zoraram Kumawat have indicated their participation.

Local MP and former Union minister Kailash Choudhary, Ummmedaram Choudhary, BJP state president Madan Rathore, Minister of State K.K. Vishnoi, along with MLAs and other public representatives from the district, have also been invited to the fair.

The organisers said elaborate arrangements have been made to provide food and prasad to the large number of devotees expected to attend the annual religious gathering.
