Maloo—a distinguished figure who made remarkable contributions to the preservation and promotion of Rajasthan’s art, culture, and folk music—describing his death as an irreparable loss to the world of arts.During a meeting of the Rajasthan Ratnakar executive committee held at Hotel Le Méridien in New Delhi, a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to 'Rajasthan Ratna' K.C. Maloo.Rajendra Gupta, President of Rajasthan Ratnakar, stated that the late K.C. Maloo dedicated his entire life to the preservation, promotion, and dissemination of Rajasthani folk music, folk arts, and India’s cultural heritage. The void left by his passing in the realms of music, literature, art, and Rajasthani culture will be difficult to fill.In a condolence message sent to K.C. Maloo's son, Hemjit Maloo, Gupta noted that through the establishment of prestigious institutions like *Sur-Sangam* and the *Veena Music Group*, K.C. Maloo played a pivotal role in bringing distinct recognition to Rajasthani music, both within the country and abroad. He consistently worked to provide a platform for folk artists and talented musicians, helping their art gain wider acclaim. His compilation of 221 Rajasthani wedding songs also stands as a significant contribution toward preserving the state’s rich folk-cultural tradition.O.P.
