Udaipur: The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for the construction of a boundary wall and development of the school sports ground was held on Saturday at the school in Odwadia village under Gudli Gram Panchayat. The development work is being undertaken by Zinc Smelter Debari as part of Hindustan Zinc’s rural development initiatives.

The project is expected to give the school sports ground a new identity while providing students with a safer and better environment for sports and physical activities.

The Bhoomi Pujan was performed by Vivek Yadav, SBU Director, Hindustan Zinc Debari. The programme was attended by District Education Officer Deepak Gaud, Additional District Education Officer Mohanlal Meghwal, Chief Security Officer Aditya Narayan Thakur, CSR Head Ruchika Chawla, CSR Officer Aparna Vyas, school Vice-Principal Rajendra Singh Jhala, along with Prakash Gameti, Jagdish Dangi, Prakash Gayari, Dinesh Dangi, villagers and a large number of students.

Addressing the students, Vivek Yadav said that sports are an important part of life alongside education. He emphasized that participation in sports develops team spirit and teaches students to work together and move forward. He also highlighted the importance of discipline in achieving success.

Yadav urged students to limit their use of mobile phones and make greater use of outdoor activities. He said that while mobile phones have become an integral part of modern life, their use should be limited and purposeful. He added that physical activity not only strengthens the body but also contributes to mental well-being.

District Education Officer Deepak Gaud also addressed the students and expressed concern over excessive dependence on mobile phones. He said that technology is useful, but students must avoid becoming addicted to it. He encouraged them to pursue their dreams through hard work and actively participate in sports along with academics.

Gaud said that sports not only improve physical fitness but also develop confidence, discipline, determination and a spirit of perseverance among students.

The construction of the boundary wall will make the sports ground safer and provide students with a more organized environment for sporting activities. Local villagers welcomed the initiative and expressed their gratitude to Hindustan Zinc, describing the development as an important contribution towards the future of the students.

They said that the improved sports ground would provide children in the village with better opportunities to develop their sporting talent and pursue their aspirations.

The initiative reflects Hindustan Zinc’s continued commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and creating opportunities for the holistic development of children and communities.
