Udaipur,: Hindustan Zinc Limited (BSE: 500188 | NSE: HINDZINC), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and amongst the world’s top 10 silver producers, has retained the prestigious LEED Platinum certification for Yashad Bhawan, its Corporate Head Office in Udaipur (Zinc City) for its sustainable building performance. Spread across more than 85,000 sq. ft., the facility secured an overall score of 84/100 under the LEED v4.1 Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (EB O+M) rating system, recognising its sustained performance across energy, water, indoor environmental quality, materials and resource management. LEED is the world's most widely recognized green building certification system, providing an internationally accepted benchmark for sustainable building performance.

The recertification recognises the continued environmental performance of an existing building and reflects how Hindustan Zinc has embedded sustainable practices into the day-to-day management of its corporate infrastructure. Yashad Bhawan’s performance is supported by energy-efficient systems, water conservation and management, indoor air-quality measures, green cleaning protocols, integrated pest management, sustainable procurement and waste-diversion practices.

Yashad Bhawan recorded 95.5% performance in Indoor Environmental Quality and a perfect 100% in Materials & Resources. It also achieved 86.7% in Water Efficiency, 80% in Energy & Atmosphere and 78.6% in Location & Transportation, demonstrating strong performance across key parameters of sustainable building operations.

This recertification reflects the same principles being progressively scaled across Hindustan Zinc’s operational footprint in Rajasthan & Uttarakhand. The company is currently 3.32 times Water Positive and follows Zero Liquid Discharge practices across its operations, supported by water recycling, conservation and responsible water-management initiatives. The company has also increased the share of clean power in its energy mix to 22% and is targeting 70% renewable power by FY2028, as part of its pathway towards achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.

Hindustan Zinc is simultaneously advancing ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation across its operating locations. The company is also progressively integrating electric mobility and cleaner logistics across its operations and supply chain, supporting the transition towards lower-carbon industrial ecosystems. These interventions form part of the company’s Sustainability Goals 2030, which integrate climate action, water stewardship, biodiversity, circular economy and responsible operations into long-term business planning.

The milestone further complements Hindustan Zinc’s global sustainability credentials. The company has been recognised as the world’s most sustainable metals and mining company for the third consecutive year in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2025 and became the first Indian company to join the International Council on Mining & Metals (ICMM) in 2025.
