Sri Ganganagar: As part of the Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar Campaign, being conducted under the leadership of District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, a ‘Freedom from Addiction’ programme was organised at Shaheed Harbans Singh Chahal Government Senior Secondary School in Mohanpura. During the programme, Vikram Jiyani, Lakshya Jiyani and Sahiram from the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment presented a powerful awareness-based play. Through their performances, they highlighted the harsh realities of drug addiction, the suffering caused to families, its harmful impact on the future of young people, and the importance of awareness, self-confidence and community support in overcoming addiction and starting a new life. The emotional scenes left students, parents and villagers deeply moved. Speakers emphasised that with strong determination, family support and community cooperation, anyone can overcome addiction and move towards a brighter future. Jiyani said the country must collectively fight against drug addiction and that young people have an important role to play in this battle. The school administration administered a pledge to students and citizens to stay away from drugs and encourage others to do the same. Everyone present unanimously resolved to work towards building a drug-free Sri Ganganagar and a drug-free India.
