Sri Ganganagar: The main Independence Day Held was held with great enthusiasm on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the sports ground of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government College. The chief guest, District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav, hoisted the national flag at 9:05 a.m.

Following the flag hoisting, the District Collector inspected the parade and took the salute during the march-past. Contingents from the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), Rajasthan Police, Women Police, Border Home Guards, Urban Home Guards, NCC Senior Girls, NCC Senior Boys, Hindustan Scouts, and Bharat Scouts and Guides participated in the parade.

During the Held , ADM (Administration) Mr. Subhash Kumar read out the Hon’ble Governor’s message addressed to the people of Rajasthan. Mr. Prahlad Tak, Chairman of the Yaade Maati Kala Board, Sri Ganganagar MLA Jaideep Bihani, Sadulshahar MLA Gurveer Singh Brar, and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, along with other dignitaries, honoured freedom fighters and their widows by presenting them with shawls.

Students from various educational institutions presented impressive physical exercises. The cultural programme featured patriotic performances by students of Bihani Children Academy, Birla Public School, Tiny Tots, and Shri Atmavallabh Jain Public Senior Secondary School.

Institutions, individuals, officials, students, and sportspersons who had made notable contributions were honoured by the guests. Schools that participated in the parade and cultural programmes were also felicitated.

District Chief Dul a Ram Indaliya, Zila Parishad CEO Girdhar, SDM Ganganagar Gautam Nayan, Kailash Sharma, Municipal Council Commissioner Milakhraj Chugh, Dr. Ajay Singla, Vijay Kumar, Mohanlal Arora, Dinesh Rajpurohit, ASP Deepak Sharma, Ratanlal Ganeshgadhia, Shivprakash Teharpuriya, Ashok Chandak, and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The programme was compered by Bharat Sidana, Amritpal, and Meenakshi Ahuja. Deputy Director of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Virendrapal Singh, administered an anti-drug pledge to those present.
