Udaipur: The Department of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Community and Applied Sciences, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), organised a nutrition awareness camp at Kidzee Mother Mary International School, Harshnagar, Rampura, as part of the National Nutrition Month celebrations.

The camp focused on educating pre-school children about the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet through simple, engaging and interactive activities. The children were introduced to various food groups, the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables, healthy eating habits, personal hygiene and age-appropriate nutritional requirements.

The programme also highlighted the need to avoid packaged and ultra-processed foods. Interactive sessions and fun activities were conducted to encourage children to develop healthy food choices from an early age.

Under the awareness initiative, undergraduate students of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition also presented a short play highlighting the importance of nutrition and healthy living.

Dietician Dr Pragya Singh, Principal Deepa Dixit, undergraduate students of the Department of Food Science and Nutrition and around 200 pre-school students attended the programme.

The primary objective of the camp was to create awareness among children about nutrition and help them develop healthy eating habits from an early age. At the conclusion of the programme, Dr Pragya Singh urged the students, teachers and other participants to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The children and teachers actively participated in the programme and extended enthusiastic support to the awareness initiative.
