Udaipur: A one-day farmer training and input distribution programme aimed at promoting scientific guava cultivation among women farmers from the Scheduled Caste community was organised on September 18, 2026, at Village Pahada, Panchayat Samiti Nayagaon, Udaipur district. The programme was organised under the All India Coordinated Fruit Project being operated at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur.

A total of 25 women farmers from the Scheduled Caste community participated in the training programme.

During the training, subject experts Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, Dr. Virendra Singh and Dr. Hari Singh provided detailed information on improved guava varieties, establishment of guava orchards and advanced techniques for scientific guava cultivation. The experts also explained scientific practices related to planting, fertiliser management, pest and disease management, and techniques for achieving higher productivity and better-quality fruit production.

At the concluding session, Regional Director of Research and Project In-charge Dr. S.S. Lakhawat encouraged the women farmers to adopt scientific guava cultivation practices to enhance productivity and increase their farm income. He urged the farmers to regularly implement improved agricultural technologies and give special attention to the production of quality fruits.

As part of the programme, each participating woman farmer was provided with 25 plants of an improved guava variety, along with fertilisers and pesticides, to support the adoption of scientific cultivation practices.

At the end of the programme, Dr. Lakhawat expressed gratitude to all participating women farmers and the officers and staff members who contributed to the successful organisation of the training programme.
