Gautam Adani has announced the future successors of the Adani Group. However, this does not imply that Gautam Adani is retiring; rather, he believes that naming a successor is crucial for business sustainability. Among the successors is Sagar Adani, Gautam Adani's nephew, who is currently the Executive Director of Adani Green Energy Limited. With youthful energy, Sagar Adani has been contributing to the group for a long time. He has a clear vision for the Adani Group and has specific plans for the future. In an interview with Bloomberg, Sagar Adani spoke openly about his achievements and the challenges he faces.
**Hindenburg Controversy Didn't Shake Investors' Confidence**
When asked about the Hindenburg controversy, Sagar Adani said that everyone was surprised by the allegations, as no one believed that the Adani Group was involved in such activities. Discussing institutional shareholding, he emphasized that the company has diversified long-term equity holdings. He stated, "If you compare our portfolio with any global business, you'll get an idea. We have strategic equity partners like QIA from Qatar, sovereign welfare partners, and TotalEnergies from France, among others. Many small and large companies worldwide are associated with us. After the Hindenburg controversy, we sat down with all our partners and investors, explained our operations in detail, and they not only trusted us but also continued to support us."
**Adani's Infrastructure Platform Beneficial for Investors**
Responding to a question about what is being offered to investors as a premium infrastructure company, Sagar Adani said, "You might see it as a premium infrastructure company, but I view it as a vast infrastructure platform. We provide investors with multiple options such as ports, airports, roads, power, and renewable energy. We offer long-term stability, spanning one generation or about 30 to 40 years, to our investors. Hardly any other company offers such a commitment."
Addressing the question of why experts fail to understand the Adani Group's business, Sagar Adani explained, "If I speak about our country, no expert has ever seen such a large infrastructure platform in any group, and they cannot assess the pace at which we are working."
**Focus on Renewable Energy**
Responding to the plan to shift entirely from coal to renewable energy, Sagar Adani mentioned that the group follows the government's guidelines and will continue to align with their plans. However, as far as the group is concerned, they are prepared and are focusing more on renewable energy.
**G-2 Will Make All Decisions Together**
Regarding the family's significant stake in the Adani Group, Sagar Adani stated, "We operate in India, where regulatory frameworks are strong, and we carry out all our work transparently; we have nothing to hide." On the question of how decisions will be made when Gautam Adani retires, Sagar Adani said, "The four of us will make decisions together, a process we initiated a few years ago. Moving forward, we will collectively make all major and minor decisions."
