###Vidyapeeth to Organize Labor Chopal - Prof. Sarangdevot

Udaipur, The meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee of the Dattopant Thengdi National Labour Education and Development Board, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, Udaipur Regional Directorate, was held in the auditorium of the Vice-Chancellor's Secretariat of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. At the outset, ex-officio Secretary and Regional Director-in-Charge Jagdeep Singh presented the 2023-24 report and welcomed the guests. He emphasized that strengthening the hands of workers is essential to make the country a developed nation.

Presiding over the meeting, Vice-Chancellor and Regional Advisory Committee Chairman Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot announced that Vidyapeeth would organize a Labor Chopal for the unorganized worker class to address their issues. He stressed that until the person at the end of the line is brought into the mainstream, envisioning a developed nation is meaningless. Prof. Sarangdevot highlighted that Vidyapeeth's founder, Pandit Nagar, established the Night Labor College in 1937 to integrate workers into the educational mainstream.

Sister Kirti Catherine David Mekwan suggested that domestic workers, both male and female, should be recognized as workers and entitled to government schemes' benefits. This recognition exists in Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, and needs to be implemented nationwide.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Jatana, Subhash Shrimali, Sister Kirti PSA, Amar Singh Sankhla, Joint Labour Commissioner Sanket Modi, and other members. Education Officer G.B. Kurwalkar expressed gratitude.
