### Dr. Vimala Bhandari Honored in Salumber on International Day of Older Persons

Udaipur Renowned litterateur Dr. Vimala Bhandari was honored for her long-standing contributions to literature during a ceremony organized by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Salumber, on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons. She was felicitated with a shawl, certificate, and memento.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Bhandari highlighted that continuous work and dedication are the essence of a meaningful life.

During the Senior Citizens’ Welfare Week, Sub-Divisional Officer Jagdish Chandra Bamania, the chief guest, emphasized that serving the elderly is one of the noblest deeds and urged capable citizens to participate in such acts of service.

The program was presided over by Deputy Director of IT, Deepak Dhakad, while District Social Welfare Officer Mamta Jakhar outlined various activities planned under the welfare week. Dr. Bhandari inaugurated the program with a prayer to Goddess Sharda. Deputy Director Dhakad praised the caregivers of senior citizens, noting that caring for elders without familial support reflects true humanity.

Other dignitaries honored included Poonjilal Varnoti (Arts & Society), Dr. Indra Chauhan (dedicated to children at Gatod School), Seva Bharti Sansthan, Sohan Lal Bhalwara (social service), and Krishna Kalyan Sanstha (contributions to elder care).

Additionally, centenarian voters were felicitated by the Electoral Registration Officer and Sub-Divisional Officer Jagdish Chandra Bamania for their enduring contribution to strengthening democracy.
