####MLSU Becomes Rajasthan’s First Paperless and Fileless University

Udaipur: Taking a significant leap towards digital governance, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) has implemented the Rajasthan Government’s RajKaj Portal for its regular administrative operations. With this initiative, the university has become the first university in Rajasthan to adopt a fully digital system for administrative functioning, paving the way for a completely paperless and fileless work culture.

Once fully operational, all official correspondence, file movement, approvals, and administrative processes within the university will be conducted through digital platforms, eliminating the need for physical paperwork and manual file handling.

University spokesperson Dr. Kunjan Acharya informed that the RajKaj Portal, developed by the Government of Rajasthan, facilitates the digital movement, tracking, and disposal of official files and documents across government departments. The same system has now been successfully integrated into the university’s administrative framework.

As a result of this pioneering step, Mohanlal Sukhadia University has emerged as the first university in Rajasthan to initiate administrative operations through the RajKaj Portal.

The effectiveness of the system was successfully tested on Thursday. During the trial, Registrar Dr. B.C. Garg sent a test communication to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kailash Daga through the RajKaj Portal. The Vice-Chancellor promptly responded through the same platform, demonstrating the smooth functionality and efficiency of the system.

Further validating the platform’s operational capabilities, Registrar Dr. Garg used his digital signature to send an official online communication to the District Collector regarding the release of funds required for the renovation of the university auditorium. This confirmed that administrative decisions, approvals, and official correspondence can now be legally and efficiently processed through digital signatures and online workflows.

Expressing his satisfaction over the successful implementation of the new system, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kailash Daga congratulated the university community and described the initiative as a major milestone in administrative reform.

He stated that the digital governance system would save both time and manpower while enabling real-time tracking of files and communications. The new mechanism is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in university administration.

Prof. Daga further noted that the need to physically transport files and documents from one office to another would be substantially reduced, resulting in faster decision-making and a significant reduction in paper consumption, thereby contributing to environmental sustainability.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the system, the Department of Information Technology and Communication, Government of Rajasthan, conducted specialized training sessions for university officers and staff members. The training covered digital file management, e-office operations, digital signatures, and online correspondence procedures, helping employees strengthen their technical skills and improve workplace efficiency.

At present, the system has been launched in the university’s administrative building. According to university authorities, it will gradually be extended to all faculties, departments, and constituent units, creating a fully integrated digital administrative ecosystem across the institution.

This landmark initiative is expected not only to streamline administrative operations but also to set a new benchmark for e-governance in higher education institutions, positioning Mohanlal Sukhadia University as a leader in digital transformation within the academic sector.
