####World Mental Health Day Observed at Geetanjali Nursing College

Udaipur: On the occasion of World Mental Health Day (10 October 2025), Geetanjali Nursing College organized a special program for students and faculty members to raise awareness about mental health, reduce misconceptions, and provide information regarding mental illnesses.

Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Dr. Jitendra Jeengar, emphasized that mental illness can affect anyone, regardless of age, caste, religion, background, or financial status. Acharya Dr. Manu Sharma highlighted that mental illnesses are just like physical ailments and require timely consultation with a psychiatrist.

In addition, Dr. Bhakti Murke, Dr. Dheeraj Goya, Dr. Rajeev Ranjan Raj, and Dr. Gaurav Purohit addressed the students, discussing various aspects of mental health — including common myths, increasing substance abuse, mobile addiction, and the use of psychiatric medications.

The speakers also stressed the vital role and responsibilities of nursing professionals and healthcare workers in promoting mental well-being and supporting patients with compassion and awareness.
