Dr. Laxyaraj Singh Mewar and Hariraj Singh Mewar Perform Mahalakshmi Puja, Pray for Prosperity in Mewar

Udaipur: On Tuesday, Dr. Laxyaraj Singh Mewar and his son Hariraj Singh Mewar, members of the former Mewar royal family, performed a special worship at the renowned Mahalakshmi Temple located at Bhattiyani Chohatta in the city. During the ceremony, they offered prayers to Goddess Mahalakshmi for the happiness and prosperity of Mewar.

Following tradition, Dr. Laxyaraj Singh Mewar reached the over 460-year-old temple from the City Palace with royal fanfare. Residents warmly welcomed him upon arrival. Observing Mewari customs, Dr. Laxyaraj Singh performed a formal ritualistic worship of Goddess Mahalakshmi.

This special puja is part of an age-old Diwali tradition maintained annually by the former Mewar royal family. The temple itself was constructed during the reign of Maharana Jagat Singh. Continuing this historic tradition, Dr. Laxyaraj Singh, along with his son Hariraj Singh Mewar, offered prayers to Goddess Mahalakshmi following all rituals and customs.
