Kota, Under the ongoing Operation Rail Prahari, launched to strengthen security across the West Central Railway’s Kota Division, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) achieved a major breakthrough by arresting a notorious and most-wanted criminal from Maharashtra while he was attempting to flee by train.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Jain informed that the Kota Division received a written message and photograph through WhatsApp, stating that a dangerous offender—identified under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act and wanted in serious cases of extortion, assault, loot, and attempted murder—was traveling on Train No. 19019 and trying to escape.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, and under the direction of Divisional Security Commissioner Ajay Sharma, the RPF Kota Post team immediately devised a strategy and tightened surveillance across the station. Around 18:00 hours, the suspect was intercepted and apprehended on Platform No. 01 of Kota Junction.
The arrested individual was identified as:
Peshanavaz Khan alias Sonu Mental,
Father — Asrar Khan,
Age — 36 years,
Resident — Thane District, Maharashtra.
He had been involved in multiple serious crimes and was wanted by police forces across different states.
The successful operation was executed by Inspector/Post In-charge Chop Singh Dawar, Sub-Inspector Sumit Raghuvanshi, Constable Harendra Singh, and Constable Pankaj Kumar, whose vigilance and coordinated efforts ensured a smooth, resistance-free arrest.
The accused was formally handed over to the Nayanagar Police Station Team, led by PSI Akhtar Sheikh, for further legal proceedings.
