#### Emphasizing Tribal Pride and Legacy on Birsa Munda’s 150th Birth Anniversary:CM

Udaipur/Jaipur, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted the invaluable contributions of Birsa Munda, who in the late 19th century led the tribal revolt against British rule, providing a strong foundation for India’s freedom struggle. Speaking during a meeting in Shobhagpura, Udaipur, regarding the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Birsa Munda, Shri Sharma emphasized that Tribal Pride Day (15 November) is not merely a date, but a tribute to the enduring spirit and struggle of tribal communities.

Reviewing preparations for the proposed state-level event in Dungarpur on 15 November, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of public participation, urging active involvement of schools, colleges, and social organizations. He called for students to be educated comprehensively about Birsa Munda’s life, struggles, and sacrifices.

Ensuring Welfare for the Marginalized
Shri Sharma directed that the benefits of government welfare schemes be effectively delivered to eligible individuals. He noted the state government’s initiatives in tribal areas, including increased mess allowances in residential schools and enhanced honorariums for Ma-Badi workers, reflecting the administration’s commitment to tribal development.

Tribute to Tribal Heroes
Tribal Area Development Minister Shri Babulal Kharadi remarked that had Birsa Munda lived longer, the British might have left India earlier. Over 170 tribal heroes sacrificed their lives in India’s struggle for independence. He emphasized the importance of acquainting the younger generation with these heroic legacies. The celebration of Tribal Pride Day started in 2021, and this year marks the Tribal Pride Year, with 15 November events planned at the state level.

Revenue Minister Shri Hemant Meena stressed that government schemes must reach the maximum number of beneficiaries, ensuring upliftment of the most marginalized. MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat described Birsa Munda as a people’s leader revered as a deity, noting that he is remembered among the heroes celebrated during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Dr. Rawat also discussed the programs conducted across the state under the Tribal Pride Year fortnight and preparations for the Dungarpur state-level event.

The meeting was attended by MLA Tara Chand Jain, MLA Phoolsingh Meena, Zilla Pramukh Mamta Kunwar, and representatives from Udaipur, Banswara, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, and Pratapgarh districts, reinforcing the collective commitment to honoring tribal heritage and fostering pride among the community.
