Udaipur, As part of the seven-day celebrations marking the 486th Birth Anniversary of Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap, a grand literary symposium was organized at the Hakim Khan Sur Courtyard within the Maharana Pratap Memorial Complex at Moti Magri, Udaipur.
The event was jointly organized by the Mewar Muslim Society, Pratap-Hakim-Poonja Mitra Sangh, and Udaipur Vikas Sangharsh Samiti, highlighting the enduring values of courage, friendship, social harmony, and unity that defined the legendary association between Maharana Pratap and his trusted commander Hakim Khan Sur.
Following a floral tribute at the statue of Hakim Khan Sur, the symposium commenced under the chairmanship of Satish Sharma, with Prithvi Singh Chauhan, Kamlendra Singh Panwar, and Prem Singh Shaktawat attending as distinguished guests.
The literary session opened with renowned poet Mushtaq Chanchal, who captivated the audience with his poem:
"Had there been no Udai Singh, there would have been no Udaipur, and the city would never have earned worldwide fame."
Patriotic fervor filled the atmosphere when Anis Ahmed presented his stirring composition:
"Sur, Hakim, Pratap and Poonja stood united against the Mughals; even Man Singh wept on the battlefield — O soil, this sacrifice is for you."
His heartfelt rendition served as a powerful tribute to the martyrdom and valor of Hakim Khan Sur.
The symposium also featured inspiring presentations by Prof. Vimal Sharma, who recited self-composed poems dedicated to Maharana Pratap. Other eminent speakers and poets including Riyaz Bhai, Prof. Nandkishore Sharma, Dr. Khursheed, Jyotsna Jhala, Jafar Jilani, Firoz Bashir, and Umar Farooq enriched the gathering with their literary and intellectual contributions.
Addressing the audience, Chairperson Satish Sharma emphasized the relevance of Maharana Pratap’s vision of unity, recalling how he brought together all sections of Mewar society in the pursuit of freedom and dignity. He urged citizens to embrace these ideals in contemporary times.
Speakers highlighted the unparalleled bravery, friendship, and mutual respect shared by Maharana Pratap and Hakim Khan Sur, describing their alliance as a timeless symbol of communal harmony and social cohesion. Participants collectively pledged to uphold the values of brotherhood, patriotism, and peaceful coexistence that have long been associated with the heritage of Mewar.
Among those who shared their views were Satyapal Dodiya, Ajay Singh, Shanta Prince, Chetan Kumawat, Abid Sheikh, Syed Irshad Ali, Bhanwar Singh Akhepur, Shahzad Khan, Mukhtar Qureshi, Azam Khan, Daulat Ram, Bhagwati, Banshilal Ji, Kishan Ji, Vinod Kumar, Giriraj Meena, Vimal Nagar, Yameen Khan, Riyaz Khan, Bharati, and Dilip Kumar Bapna.
