Service and Compassion Mark ‘Kanyadaan Mahadaan’ Initiative

Udaipur: A joint “Kanyadaan” project organized by Inner Wheel Club of Udaipur Divas and Rotary Club Drishti emerged as a heartfelt example of service, values, and compassion. The emotional initiative, held at the residence of club member Anita Sarawgi, supported a needy bride by gifting essential household and wedding items to help her begin a new chapter of life with dignity and happiness.

Divas President Sameeksha Khandelwal said that the club has always remained at the forefront of social service activities and that the objective of the project was to bring joy and support to underprivileged daughters.

Founders of both clubs, Rekha Bhanawat and Dr. Sweety Chhabra, informed that the program began with a traditional welcome in which the bride was draped with a chunri and garlanded. Mehendi was later applied to her hands, and she was encouraged to build a happy married life based on love, respect, and harmony in family relationships. Members also sang traditional wedding songs, creating a festive and emotional atmosphere.

During the event, the bride was presented with clothes, utensils, an iron, mixer, jewellery, suitcase, 31 sarees, bedsheets, comforters, several household essentials, and cash assistance.

Former club president Nayana Jain said that all members contributed wholeheartedly with devotion, service, and cooperation to make the project successful.

Secretary Shashi Mehta conveyed blessings and wished the bride a prosperous and happy married life.

Members including Jayashree Jain, Bela Vyas, Lalita Bapna, Basant Rao, Geetanjali Bhartiye, Neelam Khandelwal, and Preeti Shrimali were present on the occasion.
