Udaipur: The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Dungarpur on December 29 turned into a significant political turning point for the district. During the meeting, the alleged unruly conduct by Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) MP Rajkumar Roat and a party विधायक towards the committee’s Co-Chairperson and MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat triggered sharp reactions across the tribal belt and the entire district.

Following the incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to have gained further strength in the region. Among the general public, a strong sentiment emerged that “there was finally someone who spoke up” firmly and fearlessly in support of the Constitution, development, and the government.

Political observers believe that the dissatisfaction arising from the Dovda issue—particularly among the general and OBC communities, and to some extent among the Bhil community—has eased considerably after this episode.
