District Collector Inspects Decorations, Gives Directions

City of Lakes Shines Bright for Diwali

Udaipur: The City of Lakes, Udaipur, has been illuminated beautifully in celebration of Diwali. The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) and the Municipal Corporation have undertaken extensive electrical decoration across all major intersections, landmarks, and government buildings in the city. District Collector Shri Namit Mehta conducted a city round on Thursday night to review the ongoing lighting arrangements and provide necessary directions to the officials.

Accompanied by UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, the District Collector started the inspection from the Collectorate, proceeding through Chetak Circle to the UDA Flyover. Observing the festive lighting at the flyover, intersections, and surrounding areas, Shri Mehta expressed satisfaction with the arrangements. The inspection continued through Fatehpura Circle, Pula, Shobhagpura Circle, Sukhadia Circle, and other key areas to assess the quality and coverage of lighting.

The District Collector instructed officials to ensure that dark zones along main intersections and routes are covered so that no area remains unlit during the festival. He emphasized that as Udaipur is a prominent tourism city, the Diwali celebrations should reflect the city’s vibrant charm.

Shri Mehta directed UDA and Municipal Corporation officials to complete all decoration works in their respective areas by Saturday without fail. The inspection was attended by UDA’s Additional Chief Engineer Sanjeev Sharma, Superintending Engineer Anit Mathur, and other officials.

Appeal to Citizens and Traders:
The District Collector appealed to traders and citizens to contribute by decorating their shops and homes to enhance the city’s festive glow. He also urged everyone to maintain cleanliness by avoiding littering on roads and vacant plots, ensuring that Udaipur remains both illuminated and spotless during the Diwali celebrations.
