Udaipur — Under the National AYUSH Mission, and as part of the State Annual Action Plan 2025–26, the District Udaipur Ayurveda Department has launched a two-day district-level residential training programme to upgrade women yoga instructors working at Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AYUSH) centres as Ayush Mitras. The training commenced on January 2, 2026, at the Cultural Sources and Training Centre, Regional Centre, Hawala Khurd, Shilpgram–Badi Road, Udaipur.
The primary objective of the training is to enhance the knowledge, skills, and functional capacity of yoga instructors, enabling them to effectively implement AYUSH services. Through this initiative, greater benefits of yoga- and Ayurveda-based healthcare services will be delivered to the public via Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Mahesh Gupta, Additional Director of the Ayurveda Department, Udaipur Division, as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized that the role of an Ayush Mitra is crucial in promoting community-level health awareness, preventing lifestyle-related diseases, and taking yoga and Ayurveda to the grassroots. He noted that such training programmes play a vital role in strengthening AYUSH human resources.
Special guests at the programme included Dr. Rajeev Bhatt, Deputy Director (Ayurveda), Udaipur; senior physician Dr. Shobhalal Audichya; and Dr. Bhanu Kumar Jain, Assistant Director (Ayurveda), Udaipur.
The training sessions are being conducted by resource persons Dr. Lokesh Panchal, Dr. Keshav Gupta, Dr. Aksha Kanwar, Dr. Dilip Meena, and Dr. Rakesh Baghela. They are providing in-depth training on yoga practices, Ayurvedic principles, community health, the role of Ayush Mitras, and public health services.
A total of 73 women participants from Udaipur and Salumber districts are taking part in this two-day programme. The training combines theoretical and practical learning, equipping participants to effectively deliver AYUSH services in their respective areas and play a significant role in strengthening public health.
