Udaipur Bureau Udaipur: A grand cultural evening was organised on the occasion of the 2625th birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir at Vidya Niketan School, Sector 4, under the aegis of Mahavir Jain Jagriti Parishad, Suburban Region, Hiran Magri. The event was conducted by various women’s organisations of the Jain community.
The programme was attended by distinguished guests including District Collector Namit Mehta, BJP National Executive Member Pramod Samar, Assistant Commissioner of Devasthan Department Jatin Gandhi, Oswal Sabha President Prakash Kothari, Congress District Vice President Dilip Jaroli, CA Pritesh Jain, and Gaurav Ganodiya.
The event began with an invocation, followed by a series of captivating cultural performances by various organisations. These included group dances, devotional presentations, and short plays conveying spiritual and moral messages. Highlights included a dance drama on the “16 dreams” by students of Mahavir School, thematic performances promoting Jain values, and engaging acts by multiple women’s groups and children.
A poetry recitation by Kamlesh Jain added literary charm to the evening, while all performances collectively mesmerised the audience.
During their addresses, the guests appreciated the efforts of Mahavir Jain Jagriti Parishad in promoting unity within the Jain community and spreading social harmony in the suburban region. The programme witnessed an impressive attendance of around 2,000 people.
At the conclusion, participants were honoured with awards by the guests and core committee members. The first prize was awarded to the students of Mahavir College, while the second prize went to Chandanbala Mahila Mandal, Sector 3.
The event was anchored by Sweety Kothari, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Vidya Khatwad, who also expressed gratitude for providing the venue.
