###Dialogue on the Future of Education at MLSU: ACS Kuldeep Ranka Engages with Academic Leadership

Udaipur: In a forward-looking interaction, Additional Chief Secretary for Higher and Technical Education Kuldeep Ranka engaged with Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments at Mohanlal Sukhadia University, emphasizing the rapid transformation of the education landscape and the urgent need to align with global trends.

Ranka noted that the shift from traditional learning to skill-driven education has been profound over the past two decades. With globalization reshaping academic institutions and Artificial Intelligence (AI) redefining learning methodologies, he stressed that skills have become the new currency. He urged institutions to focus on nurturing a generation that is not just employable, but capable of creating opportunities.

Highlighting the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP), he spoke about emerging domains such as the silver economy, care economy, and digital economy, calling them key pillars of future growth. He also appreciated initiatives under RUSA at the university, describing them as progressive steps toward quality enhancement.

Ranka advocated for experiential learning, suggesting that field visits, internships, and real-world exposure should be formally credited, ensuring students gain practical insights beyond classrooms. He also emphasized the need to accelerate faculty recruitment and career advancement processes to strengthen the academic ecosystem.

A Visionary Note from the Vice Chancellor

Vice Chancellor Prof. B.P. Saraswat brought a grounded yet visionary perspective to the dialogue. He highlighted the importance of institutional stability, particularly addressing pension security for retired staff, describing it as both a responsibility and a measure of institutional integrity. Reflecting on his tenure, he expressed confidence in the university’s academic community, praising their dedication and resilience. Saraswat emphasized that a university’s true strength lies not just in infrastructure or policies, but in the collective commitment of its people—faculty, staff, and students—working together to shape a progressive academic environment.

The session also saw active participation from faculty members, who shared their concerns and suggestions, leading to a constructive exchange of ideas. Prior to this, Ranka had also interacted with principals of government colleges across the Udaipur division, issuing key directions on timely admissions and smooth commencement of the academic session.

The dialogue marked a significant step toward reimagining higher education with innovation, inclusivity, and future readiness at its core.
