Pacific Institute of Business Studies begins new academic session

UDAIPUR — Pacific Institute of Business Studies, a constituent of Pacific University, inaugurated the new academic session for its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) and Master of Commerce (M.Com.) programs with a focus on students' holistic development and career readiness.

Principal Anurag Mehta introduced students to the institute's academic framework, student-centric initiatives, mentorship programs and industry-oriented teaching methods. He said the institute aims to prepare students not only with academic qualifications but also with the skills needed to meet future professional challenges.

Mehta said the institute provides a book bank facility and regularly supplies updated study materials and notes to support students' academic progress. He added that students will also have opportunities to earn skill development certificates from premier institutions, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), during their course of study.

Ali Asgar said the institute has introduced a mentorship system under which one faculty mentor will guide every 15 students to ensure personalized academic support and monitor their overall progress.

Abid said students will be encouraged to participate in a range of co-curricular clubs, including AI Club, Professional Dialogue Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Creative Club, Anand Sports Club and Yoga Club, to enhance their overall development.

Deepika Chaplot outlined the semester-based examination system, saying students will also undergo continuous assessment through sessional examinations and practical assignments.

Priyanka Choudhary said classroom instruction will extend beyond theoretical concepts by incorporating real-life examples and case study-based learning to strengthen practical understanding.

Bhavana Mehta and Rachna Paliwal said examinations will include two case studies to develop students' analytical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Sangeeta Jha said research papers and case studies will receive special emphasis as part of practical coursework.

Assistant professors Dimple and Bikramjit briefed students on admissions, academic guidance and transportation facilities available at the institute.

Students attending the inaugural session expressed enthusiasm about the institute's modern, student-focused approach to education.
