Paras Health, Udaipur, has given a new lease of life to a 65-year-old woman suffering from diabetes who had suffered a serious injury. About a month ago, she had a fall that resulted in a shoulder injury, causing a tear in her rotator cuff, and she was experiencing excruciating pain. Dr. Rahul Khanna, Senior Consultant in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, and Joint Replacement at Paras Health, Udaipur, explained that they had a 65-year-old woman who was suffering from diabetes and had unbearable pain due to an injury she sustained about a month ago. Upon examination, it was found that her rotator cuff had torn due to the fall, causing significant pain when she tried to move her shoulders.
Because the patient also had diabetes, the treatment was complicated, but they successfully treated her using a new technique called arthroscopy. Dr. Khanna explained that the rotator cuff consists of essential muscles that stabilize the shoulder. When the rotator cuff tears, it causes an increased range of motion in the shoulder, leading to weakness and pain when the patient tries to move it. In such cases, an MRI and X-ray are conducted, and appropriate treatment is administered. In this particular case, the patient had diabetes, which required extra caution during treatment.
Dr. Khanna further mentioned that Paras Health, Udaipur, always has arthroscopy (endoscopy) procedures available for knee and shoulder issues. After her recovery, the woman expressed her gratitude towards Paras Health and Dr. Khanna. She stated that she had been suffering from this pain for almost a month with no relief in sight. It was only after a friend's recommendation that she visited Paras Health, where Dr. Khanna's team successfully treated her. She expressed her deep appreciation for Paras Health and Dr. Khanna for giving her a new lease on life.
