Excise Department’s Special Drive Against Illegal Liquor

Udaipur. Under the directions of Excise Commissioner Shivprasad Nakate, a special preventive campaign is being carried out across Rajasthan to curb illegal liquor manufacturing, storage, transportation, and sale. Effective operations, including road blockades, patrolling, and raids, have been conducted, resulting in the registration of multiple cases.

In Sirohi, near the Gujarat border, a person was arrested for transporting liquor illegally from another state, and the vehicle along with the illicit liquor was seized. In Sri Ganganagar, illegal wash and distillation units were also destroyed. Similar operations are being conducted in other districts as well.

Supervised by Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration) O.P. Jain and Additional Excise Commissioner (Policy) Pradeep Singh Sangawat, the campaign is being implemented with a zero-tolerance policy towards liquor smuggling and illegal trade.

During an operation at Revdar (Sirohi) near the Gujarat state border, an Etios Toyota car was intercepted transporting liquor from other states. The seized consignment included 51 cartons of Budweiser beer (1,224 cans – “For Sale in Punjab Only”), 71 bottles of All Seasons Whisky (“For Sale in Chandigarh Only”), and 10 cartons (120 bottles) of Rebel liquor. One accused was arrested on the spot. The team comprised Excise Inspectors Rakesh Khatri, Ashish Sharma, and PO Revdar Dewaram, along with the accompanying staff.

In Hindumalkot area of Sri Ganganagar, a raid was conducted around the Gang Canal region, where 4,500 liters of wash and five country-made distillation units were destroyed.

The Excise Department continues intensive patrolling, raids, and blockades across all districts under this ongoing special preventive campaign to completely eliminate the menace of illicit liquor in the state.
