Udaipur. The seventeenth annual conference of RAMAS 2025 was successfully organized at Geetanjali Medical College & Hospital, bringing together leading laparoscopic and robotic surgeons from across India and abroad. The two-day convention aimed to promote advanced surgical practices using laparoscopic and robotic technologies in the field of minimally invasive surgery.
Conference Chairman Dr. Sanjeev Agarwal, Co-chairman Dr. Ajay Chauhan, and Secretary Dr. Mohit Kumar Badgurjar informed that the objective of RAMAS 2025 was to encourage innovations and skill development in advanced keyhole and robotic surgical procedures.
Organized under the joint auspices of Geetanjali Group, RAMAS, and the Udaipur Surgical Society, the event witnessed the participation of more than 400 surgeons from various states across the country. Founding President Dr. Ashok Mathur, current President Dr. Umesh Dutt Sharma, and Secretary Dr. Sunil Katta played an instrumental role in the success of the convention.
During the scientific sessions, renowned surgeons including Dr. Sudhir Srivastava (inventor of the Indian robotic system SSI Mantra), Dr. Pawanindra Lal (New Delhi), Dr. B. Ramana (Australia), Dr. Rajesh Bhojwani (Jaipur), Dr. Manish Baijal (New Delhi), Dr. Sanjay Sonar (Mumbai), Dr. Ganesh Shinoi (Bengaluru), and Dr. Vishal Soni (Ahmedabad) demonstrated and discussed various laparoscopic and robotic procedures.
A special attraction at the event was the robotic bus set up by SSI Mantra, where attending surgeons had the opportunity to experience and practice robotic surgical operations firsthand.
Through this convention, participating surgeons gained direct exposure to the latest advancements in laparoscopic and robotic surgery — paving the way for patients in Udaipur and surrounding regions to access world-class treatment facilities in the near future.
