Mohammad Aman’s Classical Rendition and Dr. Vijendra’s Songs Enchant Audience at Akashvani Music Conference

Udaipur : The Rajasthan College of Agriculture auditorium in the heart of Udaipur came alive on Saturday night with soulful classical music, devotional songs, and ghazals during the 67th Akashvani Music Conference 2025, jointly organized by Prasar Bharati and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The event was graced by Cabinet Minister for Tribal Area Development and Home Guard Department, Babulal Kharadi, as the Chief Guest, and Udaipur Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena as the Special Guest. The evening began with the traditional lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati by Rajendra Nahar, Additional Director General of All India Radio, Ravindra Doongarwal, Station Director of AIR Udaipur, Vinod Kumar Sharma, Program Head, and Nirmal Purohit, Assistant Director.

The packed auditorium of music lovers was soon mesmerized by Mohammad Aman, famed for his performance in the web series Bandish Bandits (“Garaj Garaj”). Aman’s soulful rendition of Raag Puriya Kalyan in the vilambit khayal “Aaj Aiso Banaban Aayo…” received thunderous applause. He continued to captivate the audience with another bandish, “Ban Than Aayo Badra…”, showcasing his mastery of classical music.

Equally enthralling was the performance by Dr. Vijendra Gautam, who presented a series of bhajans and lyrical compositions. His soulful rendition of Meerabai’s “Piya Bin Soon Chhe Mharo Des…” drew heartfelt applause, followed by Surdas’s “He Govind He Gopal…” and “Mero Mai Aiso Hathi Bal Govinda…”. He also sang Kabir’s timeless verses “Rehna Nahi Des Veerana Hai…” and “Jhinee Re Jhinee Chadariya…”.

Dr. Gautam further delighted the audience with songs like Vijay Verma’s “Main Geet Likhu Tum Gao…”, Dr. Upendra Vishwas’s “Ahri Purvai Lai Ja Maati Mere Gaon Ki…”, and Usha Ugrwal’s “Jab Lahron Se Jee Bhar Jaye…”, leaving the crowd swaying with emotion and joy.

According to Rajendra Nahar, Additional Director General of All India Radio, the Akashvani Music Conference, which began in 1954, is being organized this year across 24 cities in India between November 2 and 29, with Udaipur among the selected venues. The conference showcases celebrated artists from Hindustani, Carnatic, Light Classical, and Folk Music traditions.

The performances from all venues will be broadcast simultaneously on All India Radio from December 26, 2025, to January 23, 2026, every night from 10 PM to 11 PM, and will also be available on the “NewsOnAir” mobile app, DD Bharati channel, and Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform ‘Waves’, along with other digital platforms.
