Livestock Promotion Rally Organized Under Hindustan Zinc’s Samadhan Project

Udaipur: A calf rally and livestock exhibition were successfully organized in Naya Lakshmipura and Sultanpura villages of the Rampura–Agucha cluster under the Samadhan Project operated by Hindustan Zinc in collaboration with BAIF. The initiative aimed to encourage livestock farmers to adopt scientific animal management practices and improve cattle breeds for better productivity.

Around 70 livestock farmers enthusiastically participated in the exhibitions, showcasing the health and quality of their calves. Farmers presented calves of improved breeds such as Holstein Friesian, Murrah, and Gir, reflecting the growing adoption of modern livestock practices in rural areas.

The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department Gopal Sharma, CSR Head Bhuvnesh Sharma, Bhadwaon Ki Kotdi Administrator Hangami Lal Gurjar, Badla Administrator Asha Devi, along with several dignitaries and villagers.

Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Mohammad Rafiq highlighted that such rallies motivate farmers to adopt modern livestock management techniques. He emphasized the importance of timely vaccination, deworming, and providing balanced nutrition to ensure healthy animal growth and improved dairy productivity.

A team of veterinary experts evaluated the calves based on physical structure, bone strength, and overall health. Farmers were also guided on disease prevention and methods to enhance milk production in the future. The initiative is expected to strengthen dairy farming in the region and create better livelihood opportunities for rural families.

Villagers appreciated the efforts of Hindustan Zinc’s Samadhan Project in promoting sustainable rural development and improving agricultural and livestock-based livelihoods.

Launched in 2016, the Samadhan Project focuses on advanced agricultural practices, enhancing farmers’ productivity, and promoting sustainable farming methods. Through training programs, irrigation guidance, and livestock support, the project has significantly improved rural livelihoods. So far, more than 1.4 lakh farmers have benefited from this initiative.
