Udaipur: Advanced medical equipment was inaugurated on Sunday at Shri Sundarsingh Bhandari Government District Hospital, Ambamata, which is affiliated with R.N.T. Medical College in Udaipur. On this occasion, City MLA Tarachand Jain inaugurated the equipment provided under the Chief Minister’s budget announcement.
Principal and Controller Dr. Rahul Jain informed that the newly installed equipment includes a Digital Radiography (DR) X-ray machine, laparoscopy machine, 4D color Doppler sonography machine, operating hysteroscope, digital video colposcope, anesthesia workstation, modern OT table, as well as several advanced devices related to eye care and neonatal treatment.
With the introduction of these modern machines, the hospital will now be able to conduct high-quality diagnostic tests and complex surgeries in less time. In particular, laparoscopy and sonography facilities will provide significant relief to patients. Additionally, painless diagnosis of jaundice in newborns and improved neonatal care will now be possible.
According to hospital administration, around 800 to 1,000 patients visit the hospital daily for treatment. Approximately 60 deliveries are conducted every month, along with 2 to 3 major surgeries each day. With the addition of new equipment and increased number of OT tables, waiting time for surgeries is expected to decrease.
Dr. Rahul Jain further stated that ₹5 crore has been approved under the Chief Minister’s budget for the hospital’s upgradation. Out of this, ₹3.5 crore has been allocated for medical equipment and ₹1.5 crore for civil works. A new diagnostic wing will soon be developed in a new building, where 24-hour CT scan, X-ray, sonography, and other diagnostic facilities will be available.
MLA Tarachand Jain also mentioned that, considering the increasing patient load, a proposal will be sent to the state government to increase the number of doctors, nursing staff, and other employees.
Senior officials from the medical department, doctors, nursing staff, and public representatives were present at the ceremony.
