Jaipur Bird Festival–2026 to Unveil the Colourful World of Birds

Jaipur:With a strong message of nature conservation, bird protection and biodiversity awareness, the Jaipur Chapter of Green People Society (GPS) is set to organise the Jaipur Bird Festival–2026 on Saturday, January 31, 2026. This vibrant and knowledge-driven festival will be held at Kanota Camp Resort, Jamdoli (Jaipur) from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Festival Convenor and Vice President of Green People Society, Retired IAS Vikram Singh, informed that the festival is being organised with the sponsorship of Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), Department of Tourism and RIICO, in collaboration with the Forest Department and WWF India.

He shared that Green People Society has long been spreading awareness about environmental conservation through nationally recognised initiatives such as the Udaipur Bird Festival. Following the grand success of the first Jaipur Bird Festival–2025, the organisation is now taking this legacy forward with Jaipur Bird Festival–2026. Around 500 students from Classes VIII to XII will participate in the festival and explore the fascinating and colourful world of birds under the guidance of experts.

A Celebration of Learning

The festival promises to be a unique and enriching experience for students and teachers, where learning turns into celebration. Activities planned include bird watching sessions, drawing and painting competitions, quizzes, bird photography and philately exhibitions, live demonstrations of the butterfly life cycle, expert interactions, and bird tattoo painting using natural colours.
Each participant will receive a bird identification booklet, a cardboard nest, and a festival kit, making the experience both educational and memorable.

Workshops as Key Attractions

To enhance the impact of the festival, two special workshops have been planned this year. The first is a Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop, where about 30 resource persons from NGOs and schools will be trained under the “Early Bird” initiative to engage youth in birding activities.

The second workshop is designed for emerging writers, focusing on writing about birds and their habitats. This special session will be conducted by renowned ornithologist and former Director of the Bombay Natural History Society, Mr Asad Rahmani, offering participants valuable insights from one of India’s leading bird experts.

According to Vikram Singh, Jaipur Bird Festival–2026 is not just an event, but an inspiring movement—aimed at connecting the next generation with nature, spreading awareness about bird conservation, and strengthening a sense of environmental responsibility among citizens.
