Bengaluru Theatre Festival Wraps Up With Outstanding Acclaim

Bengaluru : The second edition of the Bengaluru Theatre Festival (BTF) received outstanding acclaim, leaving audiences enriched and inspired. Organised from December 5 to 7 across two renowned venues- Good Shepherd Auditorium and the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts (PCPA), the festival was a celebration of remarkable performances and storytelling.

Following the success of the first edition, BTF Season 2 brought six powerful plays to the city. It featured some of the most prominent names in Indian acting, creating a lifelong memorable experience for the audience.

Lillete Dubey, Ira Dubey, and Joy Sengupta opened the festival with Vodka & No Tonic, a witty exploration of love, ageing, and modern relationships. In addition, Rajat Kapoor’s Nothing Like Lear, starring Vinay Pathak, offered a poignant and humorous take inspired by Shakespeare’s classic, while Kumud Mishra, Shubhrajyoti Barat, and others delivered sharp commentary on urban corporate chaos with Dhumrapaan, leaving audiences both entertained and contemplative.

At PCPA, Naseeruddin Shah’s Einstein delivered an immaculate portrayal of the genius physicist, combining brilliance with human vulnerability. Furthermore, Anupam Kher’s distinctive solo performance, Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai celebrated the unpredictability of life, connecting deeply with audiences through humour, honesty, and self‑reflection.

The Bengaluru Theatre Festival is part of Alchemist LIVE’s countrywide theatre endeavour, which also includes the well-recognised Delhi Theatre Festival and the Hyderabad Theatre Festival. With packed houses and remarkable praise from audiences, BTF Season 2 set a new precedent in creativity and artistic expression, raising the bar for future editions of the festival.
