###MLSU Board of Management Takes Key Decisions on RGHS Parity, Service Road and Faculty Termination

Udaipur |A meeting of the Board of Management (BoM) of Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Professor B. P. Saraswat, during which several important administrative decisions were taken.

University spokesperson Dr. Kunjan Acharya said that the Board decided to extend the benefits of the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) to university employees at slabs parallel to state government employees. With this decision, MLSU staff will now receive medical facilities at par with state employees.

Approval for Service Road near Nehru Hostel

The Board also discussed the construction of a service road outside Nehru Hostel towards Sector-3. The land required for the road had already been acquired earlier by the Udaipur Development Authority, and compensation for the same has been paid.
The Board gave in-principle approval from the university’s side for construction of the road, subject to approval from the state government. Once constructed, the service road is expected to ease traffic movement and provide convenience to local residents.

Physics Professor Terminated Over Misrepresentation

Based on the orders issued by Lok Bhawan and the recommendations of the inquiry committee, the Board of Management decided to terminate the services of Professor M. S. Dhaka of the Department of Physics.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Dhaka was accused of submitting misleading and false documents at the time of his initial appointment as Associate Professor. Following a complaint received during 2022–23, an inquiry committee was constituted on the directions of the then Chancellor. In 2023, the Chancellor’s Secretariat forwarded the inquiry committee’s recommendations to the university with instructions to take action.

As per the decision of the Board in July 2023, an FIR was lodged at Pratapnagar Police Station against Prof. Dhaka. Subsequently, on 17 October 2025, Lok Bhawan directed the university to proceed against him under university rules, in line with the inquiry committee’s recommendations.

In compliance with the Chancellor’s directions, the Board, in its latest meeting, decided to terminate Prof. Dhaka’s services under University Service Rule 73(6). The university issued the termination order later in the evening and informed Lok Bhawan about the action taken.

Promotions under Career Advancement Scheme

The Board also opened the promotion envelopes of two Library Heads, whose cases had been pending for a long time, and approved the grant of promotion benefits under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).

Members Present

The meeting was attended by MLA Uday Lal Dangi, C. R. Devasi (Finance Department), government representatives Kuldeep Gehlot and Rajeev Saxena, Registrar Dr. B. C. Garg, Finance Controller Girish Kachhara, and members Prof. Hanuman Prasad, Prof. Digvijay Bhatnagar, Prof. C. P. Jain, and Dr. Baludan Barhat, among others.
