#### Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates Year-Long Celebration of 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’

New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long commemoration of 150 years of India’s national song Vande Mataram at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. The nationwide celebration will continue from November 7, 2025, to November 7, 2026, with a series of cultural and patriotic programs across the country.

The national song Vande Mataram, written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, has been a timeless symbol of India’s unity, sacrifice, and devotion, inspiring the freedom movement and continuing to ignite the spirit of national pride.

According to a spokesperson of the North Western Railway, the full version of Vande Mataram was sung collectively at the Railway Headquarters in Jaipur in synchrony with the national event. The chief guests, renowned Padma Shri awardees Ustad Mohammed Hussain and Ahmed Hussain, highlighted the eternal significance of Vande Mataram as a song symbolizing India’s independence, culture, and devotion to the motherland.

Chairing the program, Senior Deputy General Manager Shivendra Mohan emphasized that Vande Mataram represents love and dedication toward the nation and continues to unite the people of India through its timeless message.

The event also featured a vibrant Tiranga Rally by the Railway Protection Force, mesmerizing brass band performances on patriotic tunes, and cultural programs presented by the staff of the headquarters.

The program concluded with the national anthem, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Deputy Chief Personnel Officer (Welfare) Smt. Hina Arora, who expressed gratitude to the chief guests, department heads, officers, and staff members for their participation.
