‘Rajasthan Unrest-Prone Areas Bill’ Will Strengthen Cultural Unity and Social Harmony: Gopal Sharma

Jaipur: During the Budget Session of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Gopal Sharma, MLA from Civil Lines, strongly supported the new bill in the Assembly and spoke to the media, calling it a revolutionary step for the state’s peace and harmony. He emphasized that the bill is not targeted against any specific community but is aimed at protecting Rajasthan’s proud culture and the principle of “Sarv Dharm Samabhav” (equal respect for all religions).

Sharma stated that figures like Ashfaqulla Khan, Chandrasekhar Azad, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Abdul Hameed, and martyr Amit Bhardwaj are equally respected in India, reflecting the essence of Indian culture. He expressed concern that, in recent years, some areas have witnessed attempts to create demographic imbalance and intimidate minority communities to force them out.

Referring to the late former Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Sharma noted that just as antisocial elements and external forces were not allowed to establish themselves in Jaipur during Shekhawat’s tenure, the current government is working with the same determination.

He clarified that the purpose of this bill is to promote love, natural goodwill, and peaceful coexistence in the state. The law aims to curb attempts to disrupt the social fabric through land and property transactions.

Sharma added, “Just as the purpose of a prison is to protect society from vices, the purpose of this law is to isolate tendencies that spread disharmony within society.”
