Grand Rajasthan Day Celebration in New Delhi on 15 March 2026 to Mark 77th Rajasthan Foundation Day

New Delhi – The Delhi Chapter of the Rajasthan Foundation, in collaboration with the Rajasthani Mitra Mandal and 34 major Rajasthani diaspora organizations in Delhi, will organize a grand Rajasthan Day celebration on 15 March 2026 at the Adhyatma Sadhana Kendra, Chhatarpur, to mark the 77th Rajasthan Foundation Day. The event will be attended by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Bhagirath Choudhary, several MPs, and other distinguished guests.

Largest Ghoomar Performance Ever in Delhi
According to CA R.A. Kila, President of the Rajasthan Foundation Delhi Chapter, the event’s grand cultural program, “Apani Gangaur,” has generated immense excitement among migrant Rajasthanis for the largest-ever mega Ghoomar dance in Delhi. Over 1,000 female performers have already registered to participate in this historic event.

Kila added that CM Bhajan Lal Sharma has decided to celebrate Rajasthan Foundation Day according to the traditional Hindu calendar date of Chaitra Pratipada, instead of the previous English date of 30 March. Accordingly, on 15 March at 2:00 PM, the Apano Gangaur Festival will feature the mega Ghoomar performance, where women from nearly 1,000 migrant Rajasthani families will perform together. In the evening cultural program at 6:00 PM, 30 participating teams will compete, and the top three winners will receive cash prizes of ₹51,000, ₹31,000, and ₹21,000, respectively.

Honoring Patrons and Social Workers
During the event, 10 prominent Bhamashahs (philanthropists) and 5 social workers who have contributed significantly to Rajasthan in the past five years, including investments or initiatives benefiting over 1,000 people, will be honored. The honorees will primarily be individuals originally from Rajasthan and currently residing in Delhi. Nominations with complete details are requested to be sent via email to [email protected] by 24 February 2026. A special committee, chaired by K.C. Jain, the chief patron of RMM, will select the recipients, and the Rajasthan government’s approval will be obtained.

Panel Discussions and Cultural Highlights
For the first time in Delhi, the festival will also include panel discussions on contemporary Rajasthani topics. This year, the celebration is specially dedicated to women’s empowerment, blending color, tradition, cultural heritage, and feminine strength with the rhythms of Ghoomar.

Kila emphasized that the mega Ghoomar will be historic, unique, dignified, and visually stunning, serving as a living symbol of Rajasthan’s cultural spirit, women’s power, folk traditions, and a shared Rajasthani identity. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 attendees, particularly women from the Delhi-NCR Rajasthani diaspora (NNR). Rajasthan’s traditional cuisine, including Dal Baati Churma, will be served to the guests.

This grand celebration promises to be a memorable, culturally rich, and community-focused event, highlighting the pride, heritage, and unity of Rajasthanis living in Delhi.
