Udaipur: On the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan Foundation Day is now being celebrated on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Pratipada. In this connection, various programs will be organized from March 14 to March 19. The week-long celebrations will begin on Saturday, March 14, with the launch of Cleanliness Week.
In the Lake City Udaipur, extensive preparations are being made for the Rajasthan Day celebrations under the direction of District Collector Namit Mehta. The Cleanliness Week will be inaugurated in both urban and rural areas in the presence of officials, public representatives, and citizens.
As part of the next event, the “Viksit Rajasthan Run” will be organized on March 15 under the joint aegis of the District Administration and the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA). Officials, employees, athletes, youth, NSS volunteers, and Scout-Guide members will participate.
The marathon will start from Taya Palace on the Fateh Sagar embankment and will conclude at the UDA office, passing through Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Preparations for the event are being carried out on a large scale.
On the same day, a digital quiz, as well as essay writing and painting competitions in colleges, will be organized. Additionally, the “One District–One Product” fair will be inaugurated at Town Hall.
March 16: Celebrated as Rajasthani Tribal Pride Day. The event will include interaction with tribal representatives, foundation-laying ceremonies for development works, and a tribal art exhibition at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium. The program proposed at Beneshwar Dham, to be attended by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, will also be broadcast live.
March 17: Programs under Youth Power and Industry Dialogue will include a job fair, startup discussions, and interactions with industrialists. Appointment letters will also be distributed to youth selected for jobs in the private sector.
March 18: Interaction programs will be held with farmers and livestock owners. In the evening, grand Maha Aarti ceremonies will be organized at Manji Ka Ghat, Jagdish Temple, and other prominent temples.
March 19: The main ceremony and cultural evening will be organized. The main event will include interaction with beneficiaries and the distribution of benefits. In the evening, a cultural program will be held at Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, and major intersections and government offices in the city will be illuminated with decorative lighting.
A meeting regarding preparations for the Rajasthan Foundation Day Celebrations 2026 was held on Friday at the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) auditorium under the direction of the District Collector and chaired by UDA Chairman Rahul Jain.
During the meeting, final preparations for the Viksit Rajasthan Run were reviewed. Officials were instructed to ensure proper route cleanliness, drinking water, medical facilities, and traffic arrangements during the marathon. Emphasis was placed on making the event grand and ensuring maximum public participation.
Discussions were also held regarding arrangements for live broadcasts at Town Hall from March 16 to March 19, preparations for the evening Aarti at Manji Ka Ghat on March 18, and arrangements related to the cultural evening at Lok Kala Mandal on March 19. Officials also provided updates on the progress of preparations.
The meeting was attended by ADM City Jitendra Ojha, Badgaon Sub-Divisional Officer Latika Paliwal, Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Mandowara, and other concerned officials.
