Udaipur: A delegation of women representatives from the City of Lakes, Udaipur, departed for Delhi by train on Friday evening to be part of the historic moment marking the passage of the “Nari Shakti Vandan Act” in Indian democracy.
These women have been specially invited to witness the final approval of the Women’s Reservation Bill during a special session of Parliament and to experience the legislative process firsthand. Representing the Mewar region, their participation adds pride to the area.
The distinguished delegation includes District Council Member Sunita Pinky Mandawat, senior advocate Rita Puri Goswami, Kherwara Sarpanch Laxmi Ahari, and District Spokesperson Seema Champawat.
Sharing their enthusiasm at the time of departure, the representatives described the bill as a landmark step that will ensure greater participation of women in the country’s policy-making processes. Their presence as witnesses to this significant parliamentary event is a matter of pride for the entire region.
On Saturday, these women will sit in the visitors’ gallery of Parliament and watch a new chapter of empowerment in the nation’s history unfold.
