Prepare a Development Blueprint for Udaipur Aligned with Future Needs

Udaipur/Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive development blueprint for Udaipur in line with future requirements and population growth. He emphasized the need for detailed planning in road improvement, traffic management, and the expansion of civic amenities.

Chairing a meeting of district-level officials at the Zila Parishad auditorium in Udaipur on Wednesday, the Chief Minister instructed the Udaipur Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation to prepare a special action plan considering all development possibilities within a 25–30 km radius around the city.

He stated that Udaipur is one of Rajasthan’s major tourist destinations, attracting visitors from across India and abroad, and therefore requires well-planned infrastructure development. He highlighted the importance of the Dewas Project and directed that its work be completed at the earliest. Notably, upon completion of the third and fourth phases of the Dewas Project, the city’s lakes are expected to have a stable water supply.

Ensure Smooth Drinking Water Supply

The Chief Minister instructed officials to complete development works before the monsoon season to avoid inconvenience to the public. He emphasized prioritizing sewerage and pipeline projects and accelerating work on the city’s ring road. He also directed authorities to ensure the supply of clean drinking water across the district by installing necessary treatment plants.

Praising the AI-based traffic control system at Fatehpura Circle, he suggested implementing similar systems at other major intersections.

Maintain Cleanliness to the Highest Standards

Directing municipal officials, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of cleanliness and called for a focused action plan to improve Udaipur’s sanitation ranking. He also urged officials to ensure compliance with the highest standards and involve institutions, industrialists, and citizens in cleanliness initiatives.

Include Public Representatives in Development Planning

He clearly stated that public servants are accountable to citizens and should avoid any negligence in public welfare works. He instructed that suggestions from elected representatives must be incorporated into development planning and necessary revisions made accordingly.

Ensure Officials’ Presence in Gram Rath Initiative

The Chief Minister noted that the Gram Rath initiative is being used to spread awareness about 13 government departments among the public. He directed that Sub-Divisional Officers and Tehsildars must remain present during these outreach programs and actively engage with citizens.

During the meeting, officials from various departments—including Water Resources, Power Transmission Corporation, RNT Medical College, Public Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, and the Health Department—briefed the Chief Minister on the progress of ongoing projects.

Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani presented an overview of the administrative status of the division and district. UDA and Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Khanna shared updates on urban development works, while Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan provided details on traffic management. The Chief Minister offered department-wise suggestions and directions based on these presentations.

The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, Chittorgarh MP C.P. Joshi, MLAs Tarachand Jain, Phool Singh Meena, Shanta Devi, Pratap Gameti, District In-charge Secretary T. Ravikant, Inspector General of Police Gaurav Srivastava, District Collector Gaurav Agrawal, and other district-level officials.
