Udaipur. The Special Intensive Revision-2026 of the voter list in Rajasthan is progressing rapidly, showcasing several inspiring examples of dedication, human compassion, and unwavering courage. Under the guidance of Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Naveen Mahajan, Rajasthan has uploaded over 4 crore summary forms on the ECI NET, securing the top position in the country. Among the 12 states and Union Territories implementing the SIR campaign, Rajasthan stands out as the only state where over 2,000 booths have been fully digitized, with entire panchayats now undergoing digital mapping. What began as an initiative to honor 78 BLOs has grown into a movement recognizing more than 1,800 committed personnel.
Among these diligent BLOs, three names stand out for their extraordinary perseverance in the face of physical challenges:
Babulal Pujari – Gogunda, Udaipur
“Exemplary duty despite disability”
Babulal Pujari, BLO of Part No. 18 in Gogunda Assembly, has achieved 100% completion under SIR-2026. Serving a geographically challenging area with remote and hilly households, and facing network and transport limitations, Babulal maintained discipline, patience, and courage. Visiting every home during the day and completing digitization in the evening became his daily routine, demonstrating that dedication, punctuality, and thoroughness define an outstanding BLO. His work proves that “it is not disability, but the sense of responsibility that makes a person great.”
Surajmal Dhakad – Chittorgarh
“Disability is not a barrier; determination is true identity”
Surajmal Dhakad, a teacher and BLO of Part No. 218 in Ra.U.Pra.Vi. Mayra, Chittorgarh, became the first differently-abled BLO in the district to achieve 100% completion. Having already mapped over 90% of households, he expedited the process, maintained separate registers for external voters, and personally ensured voter photographs wherever missing. His calm, disciplined, and results-focused approach set new benchmarks for awareness in rural areas. Surajmal’s message resonates widely: “The body may have limits, but determination does not.”
Kalyanmal Meena – Assistant BLO, Sawai Madhopur
“Spirit of service beyond retirement”
Kalyanmal Meena, retired differently-abled BLO of Part No. 16 under Government Higher Secondary School, Aniyala, took up the challenge of SIR-2026 two years after retirement. Working alongside his successor, Jitram Meena, he shared his prior knowledge of voters, conducted ward-wise SIR activities, and enabled identification of several female voters. By coordinating with Anganwadi, ASHA, and patwari teams, he ensured multi-level completion, recording, and uploading of forms. His commitment demonstrates that dedication to duty stems from passion, not position.
The Human Face of Rajasthan – The Inspirational Power of Differently-Abled BLOs
Mr. Mahajan stated that the Special Intensive Revision-2026 has become more than a documentation exercise—it represents human dedication, inner strength, and the spirit of service. The extraordinary contributions of Surajmal, Babulal, and Kalyanmal highlight that “success is determined by the mind, not the body.” Rajasthan’s pioneering position in this national campaign is built on the dedication and commitment of such exemplary BLOs.
