District Collector Namit Mehta Shows Responsiveness

Udaipur: District Collector **Namit Mehta** once again demonstrated his commitment and sensitivity toward public concerns during his visit to **Bhindar** on Thursday. While passing through **Kanod town**, he noticed a group of citizens gathered along the roadside. Promptly, he instructed his vehicle to stop and listened to the grievances of the people right there on the street.

After conducting a scheduled public hearing at the **Bhindar police station**, the Collector was en route to another location when he encountered a sizable crowd in Kanod. Displaying admirable responsiveness, he got out of his vehicle and addressed the concerns of the locals on the spot. Citizens raised issues such as **water scarcity**, **non-functional streetlights**, **hospital mismanagement**, and **damaged roads**. Women in the group also openly voiced their concerns regarding the lack of clean drinking water.

Acting swiftly, the Collector contacted relevant officials and instructed them to resolve the problems without delay. His proactive and empathetic approach earned widespread appreciation from the residents, who expressed their gratitude with chants of *“Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”*

Later, Collector Mehta visited the **Kanod Municipality Office**, where he continued to engage with citizens. One of the primary complaints was the **damaged road stretch between Jawahar Vidyapeeth Hanuman Mandir and Court Chauraha**, which had become a health hazard due to accumulating dust and frequent stone projections caused by vehicle tires. The damage was reportedly worsened after the installation of a drinking water pipeline, and the contractor had left the work incomplete after constructing only a partial 70-meter concrete road.

Taking the matter seriously, Collector Mehta directed the **Executive Officer of the Kanod Municipality** and the **Sub-Divisional Officer** to investigate the entire situation and submit a detailed report. He emphasized that this issue should be handled on a priority basis to prevent further inconvenience and accidents.
