Second Day of “Panch Gaurav” Exhibition Draws Large Crowd of Tourists and Residents

Udaipur: On the second day of the district-level “Panch Gaurav Fair and Exhibition” organized by the district administration at the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake, a large number of tourists, local residents, and students gathered to explore the unique identity and proud achievements of Udaipur district. The fair remained lively throughout the day as visitors moved through various stalls to learn about the district’s special characteristics and accomplishments.

According to Puneet Sharma, Member Secretary of the Panch Gaurav Implementation Committee and Joint Director of the Statistics Department, the exhibition creatively presents the district’s five key areas of pride. Under the “One District One Product” initiative, the famous marble and granite industry of Udaipur has been showcased, providing information about different types of stones, their quality, processing techniques, and their demand in international markets.

Similarly, the district’s special agricultural produce, Custard Apple (Sitafal), has been highlighted. The stall provides information about Sitafal cultivation, its nutritional benefits, advantages for farmers, and various products made from it. Live demonstrations, product displays, and sales are also being conducted at the stall.

Unique Experience of Mahua Products

The exhibition also features Mahua as a key botanical pride of the district, highlighting its economic, medicinal, and traditional importance. Visitors are being informed about various rural products made from Mahua and their uses. At the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra stall, people are enjoying the unique taste of Mahua-based products such as laddoos, chikki, and cookies.

Showcasing Sports and Tourism Heritage

In the sports category, swimming has been highlighted as a significant identity of the district. The stall displays achievements of Udaipur’s swimmers, available training facilities, and the tradition of water sports associated with the city’s lakes.

From a tourism perspective, the exhibition prominently features Fateh Sagar Lake and Lake Pichola as iconic attractions. Their historical significance, natural beauty, and contribution to tourism are presented in an engaging manner.

Free Distribution of Sitafal Plants

On Friday, the Forest Department distributed Sitafal plants free of cost to visitors. A puppet show also entertained tourists and local residents.

It is noteworthy that the exhibition was inaugurated on Thursday by District Collector Namith Mehta. The objective of the exhibition is to present Udaipur’s unique identity, natural resources, agricultural products, sporting achievements, and tourism heritage on a single platform so that both local residents and visiting tourists can become familiar with the district’s distinctive features.

The exhibition will conclude on Saturday evening.
