Administration Cracks Down on Illegal Gas Refilling; 9 Cylinders Seized

Udaipur: The district administration has intensified action against the commercial misuse of domestic LPG cylinders and illegal gas refilling in the city. Acting under the direction of District Collector Namit Mehta, the Supply Department conducted a raid on Friday in the Madri Industrial Area and uncovered an illegal refilling operation.

District Supply Officer (Second) Manish Bhatnagar, who led the operation, said the department had received information that gas was being illegally transferred from one cylinder to another near the CWC warehouse. Taking the information seriously, Bhatnagar and Enforcement Officer Mansi Pandya carried out a surprise inspection at the site.

During the raid, the team caught individuals engaged in illegal refilling and seized nine commercial gas cylinders from the spot.

Officials stated that using domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes is not only a violation of regulations but also poses serious safety risks. The District Supply Officer said that a case has been registered under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

The department has issued a strict warning that similar strong action will be taken against anyone involved in illegal gas refilling or misuse of LPG cylinders. Authorities have also appealed to the public to report any information about illegal refilling or commercial use of domestic gas cylinders to the control room so that timely action can be taken.
